0 I'm one of those ex-smokers

I'm one of those ex-smokers out there like a lot of you are. I smoked for over 20 years until I finally gave it up about 11 months ago. I really enjoyed smoking and didn't want to quit. But my doctor said that if I didn't stop, I might have a heart attack, and besides, I was coughing all the time.. continually..and it wouldn't stop. I even coughed a couple of times so bad, that I couldn't catch my breath.. I think that scared me into quitting.

Anyhow, I have found that being around someone who smokes actually nauseates me. I promised myself when I quit, I would not be one of the ex-smokers that drive the smokers nuts about the smoke etc. Before I quit, I was all for the right to smoke and after I quit, I knew I had no right to judge others. However, I have found that being around smokers, being in a house with smokers, being somewhere someone has smoked... even outside.. actually makes me nauseated.

Of course, my father, who still smokes, thinks I'm nuts. Since I almost got sick when he smoked in the house, he's been nice enough to go outside to smoke. When he walks back in the house, I smell it and have to fan myself to avoid getting sick. I can't even go out back and talk to him outside while he smokes.

0 Getting Kids to Eat Vegetables

I pushed vegetables with my son when he was a baby and he loves them i have never had a problem getting him to eat them so to me i think its more staring your kids on veggies as young as possible and sticking with them i have nothing against making food fun but it cant always be that way so i think it would be more helpful to just teach them from a young age to like vegetables.

0 Healing and Health, God's Way

People are getting sick everyday. Our body is susceptible to wear and tear like any machines. We get virus attack when we are exposed to polluted environment or maybe we are down with food poisonings. We really do not now the working of our own bodies. Today we are well but tomorrow might see our temperature soaring high. Illness can be so unpredictable and it can attack even the healthiest person. Disease is unwelcome and to keep it at bay, we must follow the simple rules of good living. Exercise should continue in one form or another until death.

When you are sick, have you ever thought and pray to God for healing? How often have you heard God referred to as the Great Physician? Every wise doctor will tell you that most of his work consists in putting the body of his patient into the best condition so that the healing forces of nature may work without obstacle. As one wise doctor said: "I treated the patient, but God cured her". Faith and Prayer are two of the strongest forces which can put your mind and body into that condition!

0 I know it's unhealthy

I've been awake for 24 hours now. I know it's unhealthy. But I can't keep myself away from my computer anymore. I spend most of my time online on the PTP forum that I work for. Getting too addicted on the internet? I think so. LOL. I can't help it! All I ever do is chat with the members, facebook, twitter and earn money in any way I can think of. I'm enjoying it very much, but I have to learn to control my time. I don't want to waste my hard-earned money online in the hospital and medicines.

0 I like drinking tea

We people around the globe are very much fond of tea. Whether it is summer or winter, whether we are in our office or home, we like to drink tea. But to consume raw tea instead of milked tea is more healthier. Because if we add milk to the raw tea, the color it changes is good but some harmful elements are formed in this preparation of milked tea. So now what would you like to take before considering your tea?

Me? I like drinking tea. I drink two or three cups a day. Yes, and that is always raw tea. I don't put milk into the tea. In fact that is mainly because I like to enjoy the natural taste of the tea. Besides, of course, I believe in the herbal value of tea.

0 Are you an onion lover?

Did you know that onions are bursting with all kinds of wonderful nutrients? They have tons of antioxidants, they fight against cancer and heart disease.

But I just read that onions are better if you keep them stored for a while instead of eating them new. And I also read that red onions are better than their white cousins.

I use both (red and white). And even if I didn´t know that old onions (that´s how we call them) were healthier, I prefer them to new onions because they are easier to cut finally with a knife.

I could not do much in my kitchen if I did not use onions. How about you? Are you an onion lover? Which are your favorite onions?

1 comments I feel very bloated

I have started a new job this week and as you can expect, my diet consisted of ready to eat food which was always fried. My work schedule leaves me so hungry after work that I would have to eat at fast food restaurants on my way home, and what can you expect from these restaurants? Greasy, carbohydrate laden food. So I am going on a fruit diet for the weekend in order to cleanse my system. I am planning on just fruit juices, nothing solid because I really don't feel well. I actually feel very bloated. Have you ever felt the need to go on a diet because of what you ate the whole week?

0 I accidentally bought organic cabbage

Have you bought or tried any organic foods?

I'm having my first right now! I accidentally bought organic cabbage. Somehow I thought it was cheaper than regular.. turns out it was about 50 cents per pound more expensive... but I didn't realize that until after I'd paid.

So I made it up with dinner tonight... wow is there a difference! This seems to taste sweet, I know cabbage doesn't normally taste sweet!

I've also bought some organic carrots (not by accident) but I've not tried them yet.

What do you think of organic foods? Do you notice a taste difference?
