Book a Puerto Princesa Package and Visit EcoTourism Sites

In the previous years, Puerto Princesa was simply regarded as Palawan's capital. However, since the underground river became a part of the prestigious list of the New 7 Wonders of Nature, the number of tourists getting a Puerto Princesa package has multiplied. Today, the city is known for the various ecotourism sites you can visit.

A trip to Palawan may not be complete if you do not take even a glimpse of what its capital has in store for you. Here are some of the things you will see in Puerto Princesa.

St. Paul Subterranean River National Park

Before becoming a world wonder, the river was first a UNESCO heritage site. It features a majestic limestone karst and an 8 kilometer long underground river. One of the park's unique characteristics is that it has a complete mountain-to-sea ecosystem, which is home to a variety of plants and animals.

You can visit the park by booking a Puerto Princesa package with underground river tour. Make sure to do this in advance because there's a limited number of tourists allowed per month to visit the park.

Honda Bay

Visit islands and sandbars when you get a Puerto Princesa package with Honda Bay tour. Some of the islands you'll visit during the tour are Pandan Island, Luli Island and Cowrie Island.

Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center

Popularly known as Crocodile Farm, the center is both a tourist attraction and research area. A tour around the center will give you the chance to see that hatchling house, where baby crocodiles are taken cared of. You will also visit the area where the bigger crocodiles are. After the short tour, you'll be left on your own to roam around the center's nature park.

To visit the crocodile farm you may book a Puerto Princesa package with city tour.

Plaza Cuartel

Plaza Cuartel was a Japanese garrison during World War II. Instead of demolishing the structures, the government decided to turn it into a park in remembrance of the brave soldiers who have died in the area. A survivor even returned to Plaza Cuartel after a few years to place a statue that reminds everybody of the historical importance of the park. Just like the Crocodile Farm, this is also part of the city tour.

Other Attractions

You may also like to visit the Butterfly Garden, Binuatan Weaving Center and Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm.

For a more convenient trip, you may want to consider getting a Puerto Princesa package with various tours included from a registered Palawan travel agency.

Aileen is the web content manager of Island Paradise Tours, a Palawan travel agency in the Philippines that has been in business since 2005. They offer affordable packages to Puerto Princesa, El Nido and Coron. Visit our website for more information on their services.
