I have Express Scripts drug coverage, and am a loyal Walgreens customer. I am so disappointed to hear that Express Scripts will no longer be allowing their customers to use Walgreens to fill their prescriptions! 

 

Walgreens and Express Scripts have been trying to negotiate their contract for the past year. But on December 31st, the contract expired with no renewal, and both companies will no longer work with each other. These failed negotiations are affecting thousands of customers nationwide.  Express Scripts is forcing its customers to change pharmacies even if the costs are higher and the convenience is lower.  Customers who have long-term relationships with their pharmacy and/or pharmacist must now make changes and are forced to build new relationships.

 

One step being taken by Walgreens to minimize disruption is to offer a special discount on annual membership for the Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens.  This programs gives members discounts on many name brand and generic drugs and adds up to a significant savings for many Walgreens customers.  It also allows you to save on flu shots, asthma and diabetes supplies, and more. This will allow members like the military to save money.
